How Many Home Depot Buckets does one Need to Stash 24 Million Dollars?

Miami-Dade police detectives raiding the home of a suspected marijuana trafficker unearthed an estimated $24 million in cash — mostly in bundles of $100 bills in heat-sealed bags stuffed in 24 orange 5-gallon Home Depot-brand buckets.

The staggering amount of cash, found inside an upscale Miami Lakes gated neighborhood, is believed to be the largest single cash seizure in Miami-Dade police history.

Because this happened in the state of Florida it goes without saying that this probably doesn’t even crack the top 10 list of weird shit that has happened there today, but at least the title of this article now has an answer: 24.

We all know and love those Home Depot buckets because our dads used to fill them with baseballs for batting practice after school. Our grandpa used to use them for paint or driveway sealant on the weekend. But 44 year-old Luis Hernandez-Gonzalez uses those buckets to store a shitload of dirty drug money. This drug traffic king pin that we all aspire to be probably has a few children in the DCFS system. So you know what that means!
