The Longhorns are currently 5-6 and 3-5 in the Big 12, definitely below expectations for a coach commanding an annual salary of over 5 million dollars a year. Strong is sitting on a 16-20 record during his tenure at UT And has been subpar over the past two years. However there have been no official reports that Strong has been fired. There has been no statement from the Univeristy that Coach Strong is out of a job, and neither athletic director nor Coach Strong have been reportedly notified as to what’s going on.
So was this just rumors and hearsay or is Strong packing his bags and leaving Austin at the end of the year? Only time will tell.
Coach Strong will be calling the plays when Texas takes on state rival TCU on Friday.
